1" high vinyls!

So a while back I bought one of the Vinylmation necklaces, it was an inch high and it gave me the perfect idea for so many customs. But first I tested making copies of it, the necklace was costly for something so small so I didn't want to loose the original in testing on it. I made a mould of it and here's the first thing I made with it, I painted it purple, then with black around the bats I'd decided to have on it. and to top it off I went back over the bats with glow in the dark paint

 

 The second thing I made with the mould was this poor thing, a messy snowman LOL! He's quite bad, I made him with this fake snow builder/volume paint I had so he's squidgy yet a little stiff because i covered him in fake snow.

I then toyed with making the mould a few more times, I would make several at a time, the ears are so thin that some of them would break on taking them out of the mould, sometimes all three would come out complete and sometimes only one would. I was left at the end of an hours work with nine little vinyls, I had them all lined up in a row base coating them with paint and a thought clicked in my brain, they looked like the seven dwarves! I set two aside and started painting them each to be the dwarves and before long I had them all done, But there was something, no someone missing, Snow White! With her made I think they looked perfect. I still giggle over how I had them finished just as it was announced that Disney were releasing their own set LOL

Evilos Blind Bags 2 submission

My piece for Evilos' Blind bags 2 was my Sunset over Disneyland custom, I took a yellow clear and stained it from red to orange to the base yellow. I got that far and scratched my head as to what I could paint on it before I came up with the idea to paint the silhouette of the Disneyland castle and the partners statue. I almost didn't want to send this one off, I still miss not seeing it on my shelf, someday I will have to remake this version for myself!

Abominable Snowman Mickey Jr

I loved the Abominable Snowman Mickey I made for the winter custom swap and decided to make myself a Jr version and here he is, complete with a little carrot nose and fake snow

100th custom!

A good friend had said way back when I first started making commissioned customs that he wanted to have my 100th custom, so we decided at the time that his VMK custom would be it. But since then, Nat got a job at his local Disney Store and that changed everything, so here we have Nat in his Disney Store uniform, Custom #100 :)

Christmas Custom swap 2011

He's Abominable Mickey Snowman with his little star ready to put up on top of a Christmas tree. I figured some may make a snowman mickey so I switched him up and added snow texture paint to add depth to his head, eyes arms and body (and his little carrot nose! and then after painting I added some fake snow to make him look freshly made hehe.

They're out there somewhere, for now this is all I have of one of them.

I think I shall choose to blame myself for the lost pictures, I could have sworn that they were on one of the cameras, I even checked the recycle bin on the computer in case i'd deleted them by accident. I had this one picture on my phone though, thank goodness for having been texting update pics to my friend!

A Jalapeno, On a schtikkkk!

One of my best friends commissioned a Peanut custom for her middle daughter, and I decided at long last to make José Jalapeno on a stick for my hubby. I took a Vinylmation Jr and sculpted the nose onto his body and tip of the jalapeno pepper to his feet, I found that a chopstick made the perfect Schtikkk hehe and then all I had to do was make his hat. My hubby loved it, he exclaimed about how he could not believe it was a Jr vinylmation LOL. I also made a second José for my bestie's daughter too!

Have Princess, she will travel!

So two sets of Sweet friends of ours and Madison's decided that they wanted a copy of the custom II made for her, they wanted her VMK character so that they could take it to their closest Disney park to make Madison feel like she was there with them. It was actually quite funny that both sets of friends asked me around the same time, unaware that the other had also asked. Now PrincessMadiro gets to visit Disneland with one friend and Walt Disneyland and cruises with the other!

PrincessMadiro that went to live with the florida visiting friends decided that she needed a SMA ribbon and a flying carpet to represent the flying carpet magic that was available in VMK!

 

 

I also made a custom that was very messy to do but so much fun and for a good cause, it was to be auctioned off to raise some money for Madison's charity!

9" Brother Bear: where the light touches the Earth

 

This custom took the longest it's ever taken me to complete a custom, mainly from the time it took to punch and poke holes in the head... for what you ask? for fiber optic lights of course! Yes that's right, those long thin plastic 'poles' that are attached to light up toys, where the light only emits from the very end of the shaft. I sat making holes in my custom to put them in the head to create a light show in the sky scene.

This custom has been long in the works ever since I got one of the 9" on sale and saw the Brother Bear movie for the first time. My hubby and I loved the movie and the Aurora Borealis is something we both want to see, it made my choice to make this vinyl a done deal and I couldn't just paint the aurora borealis, it had to light up! queue the fiber optic lights and it all fell into place. I'm so glad to how it's turned out how I envisioned many months ago.

The fiber optic strands I made holes in the head for and slowly threaded each one in by hand, the ends are bunched up inside the body and hover over a set of battery operated lights. When lit up you can even spy a hidden Mickey!

Littlebelle VMK

Littlebelle Commissioned a custom of her VMK character, with Dream ears and Dreams shirt. It brings back some wonderful memories for me, especially those of the day after my wedding, hubby and I had gone to Disneyland with a group of our friends and bridal party. When we walked off the Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters ride we ran into a cast member who gave all 18 of us Dream ears!

More retro Disneyland

 

Another Commission for my Dateline inspired Disneyland 55th retro custom, this time it features It's a Small World, The Haunted Mansion and the Jungle Cruise. I had the small world theme song in my head the whole time I painted this one hehe.

Mini Me time

well not me, but Celia! I had this thought occur to me when I made my original Celia custom, when I did the lower layer of snakes (the base ones without faces), she sort of looked like a baby Celia. Ever since then I had an idea to get a Jr vinylmation and make a Lil' Celia and here she is!

 

Jeff fuh fuh, dunnnn hammm, Dot commmm

Hubby and I love Jeff Dunham's characters, especially Peanut. After much searching I found the perfect material to make a peanut custom with. I spent a good long day sewing the fabric onto his body and onto his arms and his cute fuzzy green hair was a perfect addition. Hubby loved it and to this day, Peanut sits on top of the desk above our computer.

He's cool, he like coyotes...

He's CL_CooledCoyote from VMK! CL_'s were regular players that helped in the game as Community Leaders.

Alice? Alice?

Another part of MilkLady's commission was this Alice piece, complete with headband bow and a bow for her apron :-)

 

Superheros do exist!

Well in VMK they did! Here's Milklady's VMK character in her pink superhero suit! I tried my hand at sculpting hair too.

My little vinyl-neigh-tion pony

This came about when one of the forums ran a custom swap, I created her for a member that was a huge my little pony fan. I sculpted all of the rear end, legs and all! It was one of the most interesting learning curves and she did look so funny when she had no hair or tail :)

There's a child loose in Monstropolis!

Roz apprehended little Boo and took her back to Monsters Incorporated. They then went off on their travels to their new home thanks to the lovely lady who commissioned them.

The progression of Celia

You may remember me posting my original Celia custom, well here is one of the subsequent commissions I had for her. I improved on the arrangement and texturing of the snake hair and I added the snake hair tail that she has. I think she came out much better than my original!

Here's Littepinkpeannut, daughter of ChowMeinNoodles and BowlOfCereal. and an all round awesome young lady, it was a pleasure to make her VMK character wearing the blue princess top and shoes and the gold dress skirt and to top her off she even got a sculpted tiara!

And not to be left behind,, her older brother Bowlofmacaroni complete in his vampire outfit and Bat ears! I even carefully sat down and set about sewing his vampire cape :)
